Boyle Heights Restaurants
Think locally. Support local businesses.

Casa Fina Restuarant and Cantina has quickly become one of the most loved restaurants in Boyle Heights. Located in the old location of La Serenata de Garibaldi which was once the finest restaurant in Boyle Heights and mostly priced for City Hall people and the affluent, Josefina Lopez (founded of Casa 0101 Theater and Cultural Center) has transformed this site into a vibrant restaurant that is more accessible and on a price index that is reasonable for the people of Boyle Heights.
Co-owner Josefina Lopez says of Casa Fina:
"My goal has always been to make theater accessible and now I want to compliment that with a dinning experience for the Boyle Heights community and all those outside of Boyle Heights who love authentic and fresh Mexican food. Yes, there are many Mexican restaurants in Boyle Heights already serving delicious Mexican food, but I promise the friendly atmosphere and fiestas will be the best at Casa Fina."
"Our daily specials will be my opportunity to create with Chef Augustin special dishes and invent Chicana/o cuisine. I also want to have wine tasting events so the Boyle Heights community can come try our wines and learn about Mexican wines from the Valley of Guadalupe in Baja California where our wines come from. We want to support Mexican wines by serving them in our restaurant.
"In the future I want to create special events like Speed Dating, Stand Up Comedy Nights, Open Mike Nights, Bohemian Nights, Karaoke Nights and create many opportunities for Boyle Heights residents to try their hand at performing in front of a crowd. This could be an opportunity for me to discover new talent or help nurture more talent in Boyle Heights. I even want to have paint nights with our featured artists on our walls to teach people how to paint as they sip our wine. It's going to be exciting and action packed in our cantina so come visit us."
A portion of proceeds will go towards supporting Casa 0101 Theater and Cultural Center.
Casa 0101 is dedicated to providing inspiring theater performances, art exhibits and educational programs to Boyle Heights, thereby nurturing the future storytellers of Los Angeles who will someday transform the world.

Otomisan is the last authentic Japanese restaurant in Boyle Heights, founded in 1956 in the historic eastside Japanese enclave. Today this community is mostly Mexican American, however the Japanese religious and cultural institutions remain. As well as this gem of a family business. Try the beef sukiyaki bowl!

This City Terrace restaurant is one of the finest examples of the blended cultures in our community and how well diverse flavors come together in the Mexican experience; serving up fusion Oaxacan-Lebanese.
X’tiosu (pronounced “sh-tee-oh-sue”) means “thank you” in Zapotec, the native tongue of Oaxacan-born brothers Felipe and Ignacio Santiago, the co-owners and journeyman cooks.
Their menu consists of Oaxacan-inflected, Lebanese-inspired dishes. They bring together two culinary traditions that are surprisingly not so historically far apart, with the creation of modern "Arabesque Oaxacan" cooking.
